Quando fu inaugurata, il 18 maggio del 1913, un corrispondente della Frankfurter Zeitung la battezzò, e probabilmente non aveva torto, «la strada più bella del mondo». Wiston Churcill la definì «l'ottava meraviglia del mondo». Ora la Provinciale 38, la Porto-Pieve che dalla Gardesana sale verso i verdi altopiani di Tremosine attraversando la forra del torrente Brasa, diviene anche lo scenario per un inseguimento mozzafiato che ha per protagonista l’agente segreto più famoso del mondo, il mitico James Bond, lo 007 al servizio di Sua Maestà britannica. La Provinciale 38 è già una “star” del piccolo e del grande schermo. Lo scorso ottobre lungo la Porto-Pieve è stato inscenato un rocambolesco inseguimento del film «The international», prodotto dal colosso cinematografico Columbia Pictures, con la regia di Tom Tykwer (il film sarà nelle sale cinematografiche il prossimo ottobre). Negli anni scorsi erano stati girati qui gli spot televisivi per il mercato europeo di case automobilistiche prestigiose come la Bmw e la Mercedes; in tempi più recenti sulla SP 38 è stato girato anche lo spot della versione sportiva della Seat Leon, di cui è testimonial il motociclista Loris Capirossi.
Il fascino paesaggistico e i panorami mozzafiato di questa strada, che sembra essere la via di accesso all’Eden, sono ora stati scelti da due colossi hollywoodiani come Sony Pictures e Metro-Goldwyn Mayer, società produttrici del nuovo episodio, il 22esimo, della saga dell’agente segreto 007, interpretato da Daniel Craig.
James Bond in Tremosine
Zu ihrer Einweihung am 18. Mai 1913 kam ein Auslandskorrespondent der Frankfurter Zeitung, der sie – sicher nicht ganz zu Unrecht – als die “schönste Straße der Welt” bezeichnete. Winston Churchill nannte sie das “Achte Weltwunder”. Und jetzt bildet die Landesstraße 38, welche Pieve di Tremosine über die schaurige Brasa-Schlucht mit der Gardaseeuferstraße verbindet, das Set für eine atemberaubende Verfolgungsjagd für den legendären Geheimagenten Ihrer Majestät – James Bond.
Dies ist jedoch nicht der erste „Auftritt“ der Landesstraße in der großen Kinowelt. Im vergangen Oktober hat Columbia Pictures die halsbrecherische Verfolgungsfahrt für den Film „The International“ unter der Regie von Tom Tykwer hier aufgenommen. Der Film ist ab kommendem Oktober im Kino zu sehen. In den vergangenen Jahren haben renommierte Autohersteller wie BMW und Mercedes dieselbe Straße für ihre Werbespots gewählt; vor kurzem wurde auf der Landesstraße auch die Werbung für das Sportmodell des neuen Seat Leon gedreht: Testimonial war dabei der Motorradweltmeister Loris Capirossi.
Der landschaftliche Reiz und das atemberaubend schöne Panorama dieser Straße, die direkt ins Paradies zu führen scheint, hat nun auch die Hollywood-Kolosse Sony Pictures und Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer für sich eingenommen, die hier die 22. Folge der unvergänglichen James-Bond-Serie aufnehmen, diesmal mit Daniel Craig in der Hauptrolle.
James Bond shoots in Tremosine
When it was opened, on 18 May 1913, the correspondent of the Frankfurter Zeitung dubbed it, probably quite rightly, “the most beautiful road in the world”. Winston Churchill called it “the eighth wonder of the world”. Now Provincial Road No. 38, the Porto-to-Pieve which rises from the Garda lake road, winding up to the green plateau of Tremosine through the forra (gorge) of the Brasa stream, will be the setting for a breathtaking car chase featuring the world’s best-known secret agent, James Bond 007, spying for Her Majesty’s secret service.
Provincial main road SP38 is already a star of television and the silver screen. Another thrilling car chase was shot on the road last October for The International produced by Hollywood major Columbia Pictures and helmed by Tom Tykwer. The film is due for release in October 2008. Numerous TV commercials have been filmed on the road over the years for prestigious European car manufacturers such as BMW and Mercedes. More recently, SP38 provided the backdrop for a commercial for the sports version of the Seat Leon, endorsed by motorcycle champion Loris Capirossi.
The road’s outstanding scenery and stunning views make it seem the way into the Garden of Eden. It has now been chosen by two Hollywood giants, Sony Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the producers of the latest Bond film, the 22nd in the saga of MI6 agent 007, portrayed by Daniel Craig.
